The Inbal water and concentrate foam deluge system is specifically designed for use in Fire Protection Systems consisting of unpressurized dry piping and open sprinkler heads and is activated by heat or smoke or flame detection and release system of dry pilot fusible plugs /sprinklers.

The Inbal Automatic Water Control Valve used in the deluge system is a pressure operated, sleeve actuated, Axial Valve with the unique reliable N.M.M.P. (No Moving Mechanical Parts) design in which the only moving part when the Inbal Valve operates, is the reinforced sleeve which forms a drip-tight seal with the corrosion resistant core, preventing false operation due to transient surges in water supply pressure.

The Inbal deluge system is used in high hazards and most flammable liquid hazards areas and facilities such as oil & gas platforms, FPSO, power plants, aircraft hangars and chemical plants that contain combustible or flammable materials requiring a large quantity of water to control a fast-developing fire and for situations in which thermal damage is likely to occur in a relatively short period of time.

The main purposes of using Inbal deluge systems are any one or combination of the following :

• Extinguishment of fire by discharging suitable foam-solution
• Prevention of fire by  discharge of foam or water in case of accumulation of hazardous materials from spills to afford protection against ignition.
• Control of fire to allow controlled burning of flammable and combustible materials where extinguishment is not practical 
• Exposure protection to reduce heat transfer to surrounding areas by spraying water and concentrate foam.

According to the method of actuation /release and type of resetting, the Inbal deluge systems are classified into following categories:

• Pneumatic actuation/release, local or remote resetting deluge system
• Hydraulic actuation/release, local or remote resetting deluge system
• Electrical actuation/release, local or remote resetting deluge system
• Pneu-Electric actuation/release, local or remote resetting deluge system
